EARLY TREAMTENT

When is the right time to start orthodontic treatment?
The American Association of Orthodontists and Dr. Merz recommend children have their first orthodontic evaluation no later than age seven.

Why should children have an orthodontic evaluation by age seven?
Children by age seven have enough permanent teeth that have come in and enough jaw growth has occurred that the orthodontist can identify current problems, anticipate future problems and alleviate parents’ concerns if all seems normal.

ORTHODONTICS FOR ADULTS

Is Orthodontic treatment available for adults as well?
Sure, many people think Orthodontists treat only children yet the American Association of Orthodontists states that one in five orthodontic patients is an adult.

What types of treatment options are there for adults?
There are a wide array of options for an adult patient such as, traditional braces, Damon 3 which are smaller brackets, Lingual braces which are hidden behind the teeth and Invisalign which is treatment without braces.

Is orthodontic treatment affordable?
Dr. Merz and her staff never want financial concerns to stand in the way of a healthy smile. We accept most insurance types and will work with you to design a payment plan that fits your budget.
